WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ACT is a third-wave psychological therapy with strong scientific backing. Unlike other approaches that focus on changing or eliminating negative thoughts, ACT teaches you to change your relationship with them. The goal is for them to lose their power over you, so you can invest your energy in building a life aligned with your values.

What is the main goal of Emotionally Focused Therapy in your couples approach?
The main goal of EFT is to go directly to the heart of the problem: the wound in the couple’s emotional connection. Instead of focusing only on changing behaviors or deciding who is right, EFT seeks to understand and transform the negative interaction cycle that keeps you stuck. The goal is to create a safe space where both of you can express your deepest emotions and needs, to rebuild a secure, resilient, and empathic bond.

Absolutely. That is our core principle. “Evidence-based psychology” is our commitment. Both Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) are supported by a wealth of studies demonstrating their effectiveness in both individual and couples interventions.

No, it’s much more than that. While talking is essential, our approach is active and experiential. We use practical exercises, metaphors, and between-session tasks to help you develop new skills and promote change through lived experience—not just intellectual understanding.

This is a very common situation among those who come to us. If you have felt that in other therapies you became stuck in analysis or the struggle against your symptoms, ACT offers a refreshing approach. By focusing on action, acceptance, and values, we work at a deeper and more experiential level, which often allows for overcoming blocks where other methods fall short.

Similarly, in couples therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) marks a fundamental difference compared to traditional approaches focused solely on communication techniques or behavior. EFT works by restructuring the emotional bond from the foundation, currently being the model with the strongest scientific evidence and best long-term results, as it not only resolves conflict but restores security and deep connection.

EFT is particularly effective at breaking destructive argument cycles. Instead of giving you tips on how to communicate better, therapy helps you see the “dance” you’re trapped in (for example, one criticizes while the other withdraws). By identifying the underlying emotions (such as fear of abandonment or feeling not good enough) that fuel the cycle, you can begin to respond to each other in new ways. The goal is for conversation to stop being a battle and become a refuge where you both feel heard and validated. This process helps dismantle rigid behavior patterns that keep you in conflict.

Yes, we offer both formats to suit your needs. Our center is located at Calle Padilla 69, 28006 Madrid, and we also provide online therapy for people living anywhere.

We believe the therapeutic bond is the key to success. Our approach combines maximum scientific rigor with a close, warm, and collaborative relationship. If you are looking for therapy that is pragmatic and free of mysticism, yet deeply human and warm, it’s very likely our style will resonate with you. The first session is the best moment to sense whether we are the right team to support you.

Imagine, for a moment, a life more aligned with your values—with greater calm and healthier relationships

That future is possible, and a therapeutic process is the path to build it. Let’s talk about how to begin this important journey.
